Way of the Heart
The Way of the Heart explores the universal Sufi teachings of Hazrat Inayat Khan through chant, meditation, sacred readings and movement. Each evening we’ll immerse ourselves in several of these spiritual practices, which for centuries have been used to achieve personal transformation and Divine enlightenment.
Habib has been leading Sufi classes for many years and emphasizes the experiential side of Sufism. The Way of the Heart develops this through group participation in joyful shared experiences. There is also ample opportunity to ask questions, and for discussion.
No previous knowledge or familiarity is needed to attend the Way of the Heart, and there are no commitments for continued participation. This non-denominational class welcomes those who are entirely new to the Sufi path or who are experienced travelers.
We meet at the Neighbourhood Unitarian Universalist Congregation, 79 Hiawatha Road, Toronto, between Gerrard St E and Dundas St E, west of Coxwell Ave. Classes are held on the first Thursday of each month and start promptly at 7:30 pm. Please note that the building is locked all evening, but someone will be at the front door to let people in between 7:00pm and 7:30pm. If noone is there when you arrive, please be patient! However, be sure not to arrive late since there won't be anyone to let you in after class begins.
